                          Choose a colour
                                    by Jasmine
If I were turquoise, I’d be the raging sea on a stormy night.

If purple, I’d be the last arc of a bright and colourful rainbow.

If I were black, I’d be a kitten in front of the warm fire place.

If pink, I’d be a cherry blossom falling from a tree.

If peach, I’d be a puppy’s soft pale fur being stroked.

If I were brown, I’d be a tree with beautiful buds sprouting from my branches.

If I were orange, I would be a goldfish swimming in a tank.

If red, I’d be an ink cartridge in a shop waiting to be bought.

If gold, I’d be a doubloon waiting in a treasure chest to be found by a miner.

  1. I love that first line - it hooked me into wanting to read the rest of your poem Jasmine. If you write some more poems like this one, I definitely want to read them. - Mr Corlett

  3. I also like the bit about the puppy's fur - they can have really soft fur.
