Walking on the scorching sand,
smelling the salty sea air.
Splashing in the cool,
dark green sea with friends.
Dinner at the beach of fish and chips,
watching the pinky-red sun set gracefully on the sparkling sea.
Watching and waiting for that perfect wave,
scorching sun burning my shoulders.
Chasing my paper fan as it flyies like a bird down the beach.
Got it! My only relief from the scorching summer heat .
Melted tar in the car park,
as dogs run wildly down the boardwalk.
Splishing and splashing in the foamy white water,
hoping summer never ends.
Waves crashing against the rocks as loud as thunder.
The scorching sand was bad, but grumpy crabs are worse,
I think as I hobble to grab my shoes now overflowing with golden sand.
Ice cream drips onto the sand,
slowly if evaporates as though the heat drank it up.
Then home I head to a delicious cold lemonade,
plus a delicious charcoal BBQ, sticky and sweet.
