Claustrophobia

by Jasmine C
The box shrinks around me,
even though I know it is not moving
I feel like it is slowly suffocating me.
My imagination crushing me slowly
I begin to panic
I hyperventilate
all I see is black, black as it swallows me whole
I catch my last glimpse of light
my last breath of conscious air
Drifting in and out in and out of consciousness.
Then I notice a door
I crawl through

to the safety of the grass plain
