Frost

Frost usually forms when a surface gets cold due to the loss of infrared radiation. This process starts after an outside surface cools past a certain point called the dew point. The dew point is the point where the air is so cold that all the water vapor in the atmosphere  turns into liquid which then freezes. If it is cold enough little pieces of frost and ice form.
